today the lake was silver and when you grabbed my arm i leapt out of my body and into the water
it swallowed me like it was parched
i blinked and blinked but the algae grew further into my tear ducts
and quenched itself
broken bottles tickled my feet i pushed the shards into the mud until the swaying stopped and my vision cleared
i looked up at myself from the brackish shallows
i smiled
